This is a full-time, on-site role as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) serving a school located in Ypsilanti, MI. 

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. 

Job Details

  • 2026–2027 academic year assignment (August 2026 through May 2027)
  • Supporting students in Kindergarten through 8th grade
  • Provide speech-language services including direct therapy, student evaluations, consultation, and ongoing caseload management
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and educational goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings, documentation, progress monitoring, and service planning
  • Guaranteed paid hours covering direct student services, documentation, administrative tasks, planning, and meetings
  • Fully on-site, in-person school-based position
  • Maintain a balanced, manageable caseload within a supportive school environment
  • Receive continued collaboration and support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds team
  • Competitive compensation of $60–$80+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of $2,250–$3,000+

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program
  • State License as Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Department of Education Licensure as a SLP
  • National License: ASHA 
  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required
  • CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred
  • CF-SLP placement may be available
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
