Grooming Salon Manager

The Grooming Salon Leader's primary purpose is to lead and manage grooming salon operations and grooming salon team members. Responsibilities include delivering a high level of customer satisfaction, fostering a positive work environment, driving salon performance, and developing and coaching both entry-level and seasoned groomers. Perform expert-level grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, while prioritizing the safety, comfort, and well-being of the pets. Oversee day-to-day operations, optimize scheduling and grooming capacity, manage inventory, recruit, hire, train, and supervise grooming staff, create efficient grooming schedules, monitor salon performance metrics, collaborate with store management to achieve sales targets, provide exceptional customer service, stay abreast of grooming industry trends, operate and maintain grooming instruments, evaluate individual pet needs, educate pet parents on grooming maintenance, ensure safety and well-being of animals, perform quality checks and maintain cleanliness, and uphold Petco's grooming policies and standards. Requires 2+ years experience as a professional groomer or completion of a technical grooming training program, strong leadership skills with 1-2 years salon management preferred, high-school diploma or GED preferred, strong communication skills, expert knowledge of dog breeds and grooming standards, passion for animals, strong decision making and problem-solving skills, results-driven, attention to detail, capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments, and availability to work full time including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Work environment is indoors in grooming salon with physical demands including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, standing for long periods, exposure to heights, and noisy and wet conditions.
