Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Hospital-Based
Schedule: Full-Time | 8-Hour Shifts, 5 Days per Week (Days)

Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. The SLP works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide patient-centered care across the continuum of acute and post-acute services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in adult and/or pediatric patients
Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs
Provide therapeutic interventions for dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, voice disorders, and cognitive impairments
Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and instrumental assessments as appropriate (e.g., MBS, FEES)
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, compensatory strategies, and home programs
Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and case management
Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for continued therapy or services
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional best practices
Schedule & Work Environment
Shift: Day shift
Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Setting: Inpatient hospital (acute care, ICU, med-surg, step-down, or mixed caseload)
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current state Speech-Language Pathologist license (or eligibility)
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or in progress
BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
