POSITION OVERVIEW

To promote and maintain the health and safety of workers through a systematic process of assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and program record management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Perform various tasks under the direction of the Occupational Health Manager.
  • Triage employee medical events; assessment, implement medical protocol for care, provide care instructions, and follow up.
  • Performing screenings, such as audiometry testing for management of hearing conservation program.
  • Organize and maintain Occupational Health Records, sharing responsibilities for a variety of tasks
  • Assist with Injury Management Clinic.
  • Answer calls and provide pertinent information.
  • Relay instructions to employees.
  • Sending/receiving/scanning employee medical records.
  • Manage and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Organize and coordinate First Responder Training including Bloodborne Pathogens, Medical Waste & CPR/AED.
  • Maintaining employee certification & records in Learning Management System, Spark, MICR and other Medical Records databases as assigned.
  • Assist in the training of new employees within the scope of job duties.
  • Order medical supplies & stocking all first aid rooms and emergency first responder bags.
  • Coordinate Occupational Health programs and providing services for Vision, Flu Clinic, and Hearing Conservation, Respirator Fit Testing, and Drug Testing.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state and local laws and regulations by maintaining the confidentiality and security of employee health information, handling all medical documentation and records in compliance with privacy standards, and safeguarding sensitive data throughout the leave management process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work well under supervision and seek assistance as needed.
  • Must be able to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks at one time.
  • Self-directed and confident - Must be willing to own and resolve problems with the help of the occupational nurse.
  • Versatile and flexible to meet the needs of internal customers.
  • Must be responsive to the employee's needs while maintaining a vision of Company goals.
  • Must be comfortable communicating with all levels in the Corporation.
  • Must maintain a high sense of customer service and have excellent communication skills.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace. 
  • Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters. 

WHAT TO BRING

  • CAOHC, DOT BAT, and DOT Urine certification preferred.
  • Completion of Healthcare Information Program or Medical Assistant program required.
  • Training and/or 3-5 year's healthcare experience in the industrial setting preferred.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Excellent PC skills needed.
  • Must be able to physically maneuver around machinery, between plants, manage supplies, respond in a timely manner to situations, and communicate with all personnel.
