Job Description


Job Summary:
The Buyer Planner I is responsible for the procurement of materials and services, and the planning and scheduling of production to meet customer demand and optimize inventory levels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing, and maintain strong supplier relationships.

  • Analyze material requirements and production schedules to ensure timely availability of materials and components.

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize material flow and resolve supply chain issues.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement and planning functions.

  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and production performance.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or a related supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MFG PRO).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
