About the Role:
In Route Drilling LLC is looking for a skilled HDD Locator to join our growing team in Zimmerman, MN! This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll play a critical part in the success of horizontal directional drilling operations. If you're experienced in underground utility work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Operate HDD locating equipment to track and guide drill head during boring operations
- Communicate drill path, depth, and pitch data to the drill operator in real time
- Perform utility locates and verify underground infrastructure prior to drilling
- Monitor and adjust bore path to maintain accuracy and avoid existing utilities
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of HDD equipment on job sites
- Maintain accurate job site documentation and locating logs
- Follow all safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and company procedures on site
Requirements:
- Prior experience as an HDD Locator or in horizontal directional drilling operations
- Proficiency with locating equipment such as DigiTrak, SubSite, or similar systems
- Strong understanding of underground utility identification and avoidance
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, utility maps, and bore profiles
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew
