Description

The City of Zion is seeking an individual to Supervise Grass Cutters and who is excited to maintain the beauty of the city. This is a great summer opportunity available May through October.


DEPARTMENT: Building

HOURS: 7:00am TO 3:30pm Monday – Friday there will be make-up days due to inclement weather


QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School diploma or equivalent 

· Valid drivers license

· 18 years of age

· Experience using lawn equipment

· Experience driving trailer

· Effective communications and prior supervisory experience preferred.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervising 2 to 3 Lawn Cutters/crew

· Conducting maintenance on lawn equipment

· Troubleshooting lawn equipment

· Follow daily task schedule

· Follow safety guidelines

· Maintain effective communication

· Working relationships with crew, Building Department Director, city officials, city residents and other city employees. 

 

All qualifying applicants shall be interviewed by the Building Department Director along with a transitional meeting with the Human Resources Manager. The City will fill the vacancy by selecting the most qualified applicants. 


Successful candidates must complete and pass a background check, a pre-employment physical and a drug screen.
