An international oilfield service company is seeking a QHSE Coordinator responsible for overseeing all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) matters across the UK and Continental Europe. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices to maintain a safe, efficient, and sustainable working environment.
Working closely with all departments, the QHSE Coordinator provides expert guidance, risk assessments, and proactive solutions to mitigate hazards and enhance safety culture. They will report to the UK AVP while maintaining a functional reporting line to Headquarters HSE, ensuring alignment with corporate HSE strategy. Additionally, they will provide operational advice to local management, supporting continuous improvement in QHSE performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct and review risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and implementing measures to minimize risk.
- Inspections & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspection findings, preparing reports with recommendations for improvements and corrective actions.
- Incident & Near Miss Tracking: Record and analyze near misses and accidents, compiling statistical reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Observation Card Management: Review incoming observation cards, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of reported concerns.
- Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards: Stay up to date with evolving legislation and industry developments, ensuring compliance with relevant QHSE regulations and best practices.
- Specialist Advisory: Provide expert guidance on a range of specialist areas, including fire safety, hazardous substances, and machine safeguarding.
- Workplace Safety Improvements: Implement changes to working practices to ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards.
- Policy & Documentation Development: Assist in the creation and maintenance of local governing documents and industry best practices.
- Incident Investigation & Resolution: Handle and lead incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
- Auditing & Compliance Checks: Lead or participate in internal and external QHSE audits, ensuring adherence to policies at both site and base locations.
- QHSE Leadership & Communication: Chair monthly QHSE meetings, providing updates and driving engagement in safety initiatives.
- Support for Client Tenders & Bids: Assist management in QHSE-related inputs for client proposals, tenders, and bids.
- Employee Training & Inductions: Conduct the QHSE portion of employee inductions, ensuring all new personnel understand safety policies and procedures.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong leadership in QHSE management, compliance, and continuous improvement. NEBOSH certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
