Role Overview:
The Recycling Operations Assistant / Weighbridge Operator plays a key role in the day-to-day running of our client's recycling facility. The role focuses on managing the safe and accurate flow of materials on and off site, operating the weighbridge, and working closely with site teams, drivers, and customers to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate the site weighbridge to accurately record weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials
Produce and maintain weighbridge tickets, reports, and supporting documentation
Ensure all data is entered correctly into internal systems in line with company and regulatory requirements
Provide administrative support to the operations team, including filing, record keeping, and document control
Manage incoming telephone calls and email enquiries, responding professionally to customers, drivers, and suppliers
Liaise with site staff, drivers, contractors, and customers to coordinate material movements
Support compliance with health & safety, environmental, and waste management regulations
Assist with general office duties (weighbridge related tasks) as required in a fast-paced operational environment
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a weighbridge, logistics, recycling, or operations environment is desirable
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and documentation
Good IT skills, including confidence using databases, spreadsheets, and email
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach
