About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Leader to join our clients Logistics Department. The Warehouse Team Leader will be responsible for the effective storage, control, and housekeeping of the company’s raw material and component stock. As the Warehouse Team Leader you will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring all inventory is accurately located, stored, and kitted, with all transactions recorded correctly in SAP.

The Warehouse Team Leader will lead and support a team of logistics operatives, prioritising health and safety, process efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout all warehouse functions.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse Team Leader:

Supervise, coordinate, and support a team of warehouse/logistics operatives.

Enforce and promote compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring the team follows company procedures and best practices.

Oversee the storage, kitting, and dispatch of goods and materials.

Maintain accurate stock levels and records within the SAP inventory management system.

Implement and monitor FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to manage product life cycles effectively.

Conduct regular stock counts and assist during audits.

Allocate daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure all KPIs and deadlines are met.

Investigate and report discrepancies, damages, or delivery issues.

Ensure kits are correctly allocated and processed through WJTs operating systems.

Support the training and upskilling of team members.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.

Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and housekeeping across all warehouse areas.

Be visible and available on the warehouse floor to support the team and assist with production line queries.

Operate Forklift Trucks (FLTs) to support the team as required, particularly during busy periods or absences.

Undertake problem-solving activities and other tasks as directed by the Logistics Manager.

Liaise effectively with Procurement, Production, Composites, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.

 

Qualifications and Experience for the Warehouse Team Leader 

Computer literate with working knowledge of inventory management systems (SAP experience preferred).

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.

Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Previous team leadership or supervisory experience is essential.

Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
