- Knowledge of developing design and product specifications is desirable
- Knowledge of FMEA, risk (hazard) analysis / What If / HazOp is desirable
- Experience of development of products and sub-assemblies
- Experience in analysing and fault finding on complex systems.
- Creation of verification and validation methods is desirable
- Able to develop, document and control detailed processes and guide technicians through new build and test in Operations
- Support design reviews looking at Design for Manufacturing / Assembly /Service
- Knowledge of modular design and system configuration
- Knowledge of designing to achieve high product reliability and ease of service
- Validation and product testing
- Knowledge of fault analysis techniques e.g. 8D, 5 Whys
- CAD design experience desirable
