Pastoral Mentor - Full-Time Role in Alternative Provision
Location: Accrington Salary: £90 - £140 per day Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time OnlyStart Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about supporting young people who face challenges in mainstream education? Do you have the resilience and empathy to help pupils manage their behaviour, build trust, and achieve their potential?A dedicated Alternative Provision is seeking a Pastoral Mentor to join their team full-time. This vital role involves working closely with students who may present with social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties, providing both structured mentoring and pastoral care to help them re-engage with learning.
The Role:* Providing daily pastoral support to pupils across the school.* Acting as a mentor and positive role model, building trusting relationships with young people.* Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.* Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to implement individual support plans.* Helping to create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges.* A calm, patient, and non-judgemental approach.* Strong communication and de-escalation skills.* A background in education, youth work, or mentoring (formal qualifications are desirable but not essential).* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
