With a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and efficiency, we are now seeking a proactive and experienced Transport Manager to join their dynamic team and oversee the fleet operations.
We believe great people deserve great rewards. Here’s what you can look forward to when you join the team:
- Quarterly sales bonus – your effort matters, and we make sure it pays off with regular bonus opportunities.
- 28 days of paid holiday (including bank holidays) – work hard, rest well. You’ll have plenty of time to relax and recharge.

Role Overview
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our transport and delivery services. You will lead a team of drivers and logistics staff, ensuring timely deliveries and collections of tools, plant equipment, and machinery. While a background in Tool and Plant Hire is advantageous, it is not essential — we’re looking for someone with strong transport management experience and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the transport department, including route planning, vehicle scheduling, and driver management.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant transport legislation and Health & Safety standards.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of drivers and transport staff to deliver outstanding service.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, MOTs, servicing, and defect reporting.
- Monitor and improve transport performance metrics — efficiency, cost control, safety, and service levels.
- Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure seamless logistics and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records, including tachograph data, driver hours, fuel usage, and maintenance logs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the transport operation.
Experience required:
- Proven experience in a Transport Manager role or similar logistics leadership position.
- Strong working knowledge of UK transport regulations and fleet compliance.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
If you're looking for a role that’s more than just a job – where you can learn, grow, and make a real impact – we want to hear from you!
