We are currently working with a reputable and well-established law firm based in South Manchester that is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Legal Cashier to join their friendly accounts team on a full-time, office-based basis.The Role:As a Legal Cashier, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the firm. Working closely with fee earners, department heads, and the wider finance team, you will ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers
  • Bank reconciliations for client and office accounts
  • Monitoring and managing ledgers to ensure accurate financial records
  • Handling petty cash and expenses
  • Assisting with the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and other regulatory requirements
  • Liaising with solicitors and support staff to resolve any finance-related queries
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier in a law firm is essential
  • Solid understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
  • High attention to detail with strong numeracy and accuracy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in legal accounting software (experience with Leap or similar is desirable)
  • Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
  • A team player with a positive and proactive approach
