Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Duration: 6 months (likely to be extended)
Location: Aberdeen (Onsite one day per week)

Overview:
Join our client, a leading organisation in the construction industry, as a Quantity Surveyor. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your expertise in cost estimation, contract management, and risk assessment will be crucial in driving project success.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide commercial support to the Project Manager in managing and administering all contractual relationships.
  • Oversee multiple contracts within a defined portfolio, ensuring compliance and effective management.
  • Manage financial performance by tracking spend to date and forecasting future expenditures in line with contract terms and governance policies.
  • Support the risk management process, contributing to the continual development of the Risk Register alongside the Project Manager.
  • Facilitate tender evaluations and negotiations, offering professional advice to secure favourable outcomes.
  • Lead dispute resolution efforts by leveraging your expertise and providing sound professional advice.
  • Mentor and support other Quantity Surveyors and Junior Quantity Surveyors in their professional development.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven construction experience, with a preference for utilities and larger-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with NEC Two Stage Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and NEC 3 & 4 contracts, including Options A, C, and E.
  • RICS Chartered Member (MRICS) is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and advanced skills in contract management and project management.
  • Experience in managing and developing Quantity Surveyors.
