I'm delighted to be partnered with a market leading chemical manufacturing business who are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join their team in Alfreton. This role offers an attractive package of £65,000 - £75,000 (+ 15% bonus & car allowance). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance team, ensuring the upkeep of equipment, and responding to breakdowns efficiently.

What you'll do:

As a Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our client's facility, overseeing all preventative and reactive aspects of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance. Your duties will include...

  • Coordinate the maintenance team for general/preventative maintenance & upkeep of equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns & requests for repairs from Production Manager, Production Supervisors & Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Develop preventative & service schedules for equipment & ensure compliance with safety, environmental, legal & quality standards
  • Supervise & assign the work of Maintenance Engineers ensuring they are qualified & trained for all designated tasks
  • Maintain the site according to COMAH & IPPC directives following the Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP) process
  • Ensure that the Permit to Work system is implemented & maintained at all times
  • Manage health and safety of Maintenance team during repairs/installations and breakdowns

  • Relevant experience in electrical/mechanical engineering/maintenance & repair role within a chemical manufacturing setting
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors/directors
  • Familiarity with COMAH, IPPC, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 Protean (or similar) management system
  • Hands on approach
  • Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a departmental supervisory position
