Our client has aproven track record, having delivered Milsatcom capability to the UK MOD from Skynet 4, through the successful Skynet 5 PFI, and currently delivering Skynet 6A on orbit.They are setting the standard for inter-satellite links, navigation, and space-based networks. As a Systems Engineer, you will be pivotal in defining the technical backbone for our major programme bids. Your primary focus will be providing the System Architecture Definition across all three segments: Space, Control, and Ground.
Your key contributions will include:
1. System Architecture & Design Leadership
- Defining the comprehensive Ground System level architectural design, including leading technical trade-offs.
- Working closely with Engineering Leads and Partners to define segment and associated sub-system architectures via integrated Working Groups.
- Owning the end-to-end requirements lifecycle: capture and definition from high-level stakeholder needs down to sub-system specifications.
- Ensuring complete traceability and managing the Verification, Validation, and Test (VV&T) support activities.
- Providing expert technical inputs for major proposals and bids.
- Acting as the Solution Lead for customer and internal governance reviews, informing stakeholders on progress and problem resolution.
- Contributing to Systems Engineering and project management inputs for planning, schedule, and cost activities.
- A University degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in the design, integration, and roll-out of end-to-end digital telecommunications systems. (Experience with Milsatcom systems is highly desirable).
- Demonstrable experience covering the space, control, and ground segments using established methodologies (Waterfall or Agile).
- Experience in defining solutions within an Architectural Framework utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and appropriate tools (Enterprise Architect is desirable).
- Experience in technical engagement with external customers and internal partners.
- A solid working understanding of the key portfolios, including satellite platforms and payloads, satellite control, mission control, and network control.
- Robust presentation and technical writing skills.
