Part-Time Private Client Tax Manager – Accountancy Practice

Location: Alton, Hampshire

The Role:

As a Private Client Tax Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of HNWIs, business owners, and private clients, ensuring high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services. You’ll also play a key leadership role within the tax team, helping to guide and support junior and part-qualified staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate compliance
  • Provide advisory support on capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts, residence/domicile, and other private client matters
  • Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and support their technical development
  • Work closely with the partners on more complex advisory projects
  • Assist in the training, mentoring, and day-to-day management of junior team members
  • Maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and service delivery
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and best practice
Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience in personal/private client tax, ideally from a practice background
  • Confident reviewing returns and providing technical guidance to junior staff
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to work from the office with flexibility around personal commitments
  • Experience with tax software and Microsoft Office
