Our client is a rapidly growing care group, based in the Northwest who deliver a range of care & support including Supported Living, Home Care, Mental Health Stepdown Provision, Emergency Accommodation & Respite, Children’s Outreach and Specialist Support.
They are now looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join their finance department at their head office base in Altrincham. As their Finance Assistant you will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. You’ll be responsible for all areas of transactional finance for 2-3 entities, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and possessing a positive attitude toward continual process improvements
As Senior Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's rapid growth through smooth financial operations, and work closely with the Finance Manager and Group Executive Director to ensure timely and accurate reporting. You should be an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and strives for excellence; knowing that everything we do in finance contributes to the company’s mission to provide the highest quality of care to the individuals we support.
Senior Finance Assistant – Responsibilities
- Sales Ledger, raising sales invoices, resolving queries, and credit control.
- Purchase Ledger, raising PO's, processing purchase invoices, and producing monthly supplier payment runs.
- Processing Bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
- Processing staff expense claims, processing company credit card expenses.
- Assist with month-end processes, journals, and intercompany reconciliations.
- End to end processing of payroll, including FPS, submitting pension contributions and being the first point of contact for employee queries.
- Partner with and work closely with other teams to support them with accurate information.
- Take ownership of all transactional finance for your entities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.
- Continuously assess and implement improvements to financial processes and systems for greater efficiency as the business grows.
Senior Finance Assistant – Required Skills
- AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent, strong QBE candidates also considered.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated ability to take ownership.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Experience of Xero advantageous
- Proactive & positive, with excellent communication skills
- Continual improvement mindset
