Our clienta privately-owned, housebuilderare looking for aQuantity Surveyor to join their office in Ascot.

The Role

AsQuantity Surveyor, you will:

Place contracts for all relevant subcontractor work on their developments

  • Prepare subcontract enquiries, send out for pricing and ensure that contracts are placed in line with the build programme
  • Produce a detailed trade specific scope of works and qualification notes for all enquiry documentation
  • Analyse subcontractor quotes and form a recommendation on who to appoint
  • Ensure standard terms and conditions are agreed with all orders/contracts placed
  • Manage subcontractor payments
  • Process stage payments to subcontractors when due
  • Ensure all contra charges are managed
  • Carry out checks for UTR status of subcontractors
  • Review and process variations in accordance with terms and conditions

Work in partnership with other teams to ensure key dates for the build programme are achieved

  • Check drawings to ensure the proposals are practical and commercially viable
  • Regularly attend project meetings on site
  • Provide cost advice for the sales team

Produce regular reporting

  • Compile full cost reports for each development, to include services, materials, sub-contract and prelim costs

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a residential house builder
  • Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Great team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised and able to work well in a busy team
