We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities teacher to join our collaborative and supportive Humanities department, commencing in September 2025.
This is a fantastic chance to inspire students in subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, and potentially others, fostering their critical thinking and global awareness.
About the Role:
As a QTS Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of Humanities subjects within Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on your specialisms and the school's needs).
- Creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and a respect for diverse perspectives.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and ensure all students make excellent progress.
- Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress in line with school policies.
- Contributing to the development and enrichment of the Humanities curriculum and resources.
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Humanities department and across the school.
- Maintaining high standards of classroom management and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities or pastoral support (desirable).
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A strong degree in a Humanities-related subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, Sociology).
- Excellent subject knowledge across a range of Humanities disciplines.
- A genuine passion for the Humanities and the ability to inspire and motivate students to explore the world around them.
- Proven experience in planning and delivering effective and engaging lessons that cater to diverse learners.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and respectful learning environment.
