Our client, a prominent player in the nuclear sector, is seeking three Mechanical Technicians to join their team on a contractual basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nuclear site projects, fulfilling essential mechanical, electrical, and pipefitting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform plant operations, installations, handling, assembly, dismantling, and other activities as instructed by the Supervisor/Site Supervisor
- Carry out tasks for specific projects, including the assembly, installation, maintenance, operation, and dismantling of general plant equipment and development test rigs
- Complete and maintain all necessary records and documentation
Job Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in nuclear site environments (Industrial Expereince Considered)
- welding skills
- Proficiency in assembly and pipefitting
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering practices
Experience & Knowledge:
- Manufacture and fitting of mechanical parts and assemblies
- Experience in site or factory work environments
- Lifting and slinging experience
- Exposure to engineering, science, or construction environments (desirable)
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient use of hand tools for assembly
- Understanding of mechanical engineering drawings
- Experience with general workshop equipment like pedestal grinders, drills, and bandsaws
- Welding (gas and electric) skills (desirable)
- Pipe fitting skills, particularly with Swagelok (desirable)
- Appointment of AWE mechanical isolations NP(M) (desirable)
Qualifications:
- Advanced apprenticeship/NVQ Level 4 or BTEC (essential)
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in mechanical engineering (essential)
- GCSE 'C' grade or above in English, Mathematics, Science, or a technical subject (desirable)
- CSCS card or affiliated scheme card for the relevant trade (essential)
- Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent (desirable, training provided)
- Triple Bar certification (essential)
