�? About the Role

We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and motivated Head of School (Secondary) to join our leadership team at a well-established non-maintained special school for children aged 5–16. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of a therapeutic educational setting that supports students with a range of complex needs, including Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

?? Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily operational leadership across the secondary phase.
  • Lead on a key area of the school’s self-evaluation and development plan.
  • Monitor and evaluate school outcomes alongside the Assistant Headteacher.
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality SEN&D teaching and learning.
  • Report directly to the Headteacher and contribute to strategic planning.

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with leadership experience in SEN or mainstream settings.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for pupils with SEN&D.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for therapeutic education.
  • Experience working with students with Autism and SEMH needs.
