An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary property and planning consultancy based in Ashford, Kent. This firm is one of the most respected independent practices in the region, operating across more than 80 villages and parishes in Kent and East Sussex.

This role would suit a planner with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience within consultancy, local authority, or a housebuilder environment. Candidates working towards or recently achieving MRTPI status are encouraged to apply.

The Role:You will work as part of a highly experienced planning and property team, managing a broad and varied portfolio of client instructions. Projects range in scale and sector, with clients including developers, universities, rural estate owners, private investors, and commercial enterprises.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals

  • Managing your own caseload with the support of senior planners and consultants

  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders

  • Contributing to the delivery of a wide variety of rural, commercial, and residential projects

Candidate Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of planning experience (public or private sector)

  • Working towards or recently MRTPI qualified

  • Knowledge of the Kent and East Sussex planning landscape preferred

  • Ability to work independently and develop your own client base over time

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
