- Base Location: Ashford Common - TW15 1RU.
- Working Pattern 38 Hours Monday- Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus the inclusion on a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.
- A valid UK driving license is essential.
- All necessary equipment, such as vehicles, PPE and tools, are provided.
- Working on various pumps, involved in water transfer within water treatment works and transmission of water throughout the network, as well as smaller chemical dosing pumps.
- Investigating mechanical plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions for our customers.
- This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
- Provided technical advice to the wider team, referred to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provided training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby Rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment.
- A time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems. With NVQ or C&G, level 3 in mechanical engineering and an upskilling qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3 are essential.
- Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including various pumps within the utility industry, would be beneficial.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
- Due to the nature of the role, a Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Competitive salary up to £36,800 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
