GSL Education Kent are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Ashford that caters to students with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This nurturing and inclusive setting is known for its therapeutic approach and commitment to supporting every student holistically. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping young people access learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support students aged 5–16 with Autism and SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups
• Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional and social development
• Collaborate with teaching and therapy staff to implement individualised support strategies
• Help manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies
• Encourage independence and life skills through tailored activities and support

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
• Have prior experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism and SEMH
• Be calm, empathetic, and patient, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Be flexible, proactive, and able to follow guidance from teaching and therapeutic staff
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
• Be a driver with access to a vehicle, as travel is essential due to the school’s location and duties.
