Salary: 150 to 250 (depending on experience and if Long term or D2D Supply)

About the Role

We are working in partnership with an Outstanding specialist academy in the DA3 area that provides education and care for pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of learning needs, including ASD, SLD, PMLD, and complex communication difficulties.

The school is seeking a passionate and creative SEN Teacher to join its dedicated and skilled team. You'll be working in a highly supportive environment where every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and learning is carefully personalised to help each student reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons tailored to meet a variety of special educational needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and multi-disciplinary professionals to support holistic pupil development.
  • Use creative teaching approaches, including communication aids and sensory strategies, to promote engagement and independence.
  • Contribute to the school's wider community, supporting enrichment activities and pastoral care.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome).
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs (ASD, MLD, SLD, or PMLD).
  • A compassionate, adaptable approach and genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaborative working.
