Matchtech are working with a leading contractor in the water sector who is seeking an experienced Lead Planner to join their team on a permanent basis on projects based in Kent.
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with three days per week on site in Kent, supporting key projects within the UK water industry.
This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) systems, and demonstrable experience within the water sector, ideally with exposure to AMP (Asset Management Programme) frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules for water infrastructure and MEICA-related projects.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure schedules are realistic and aligned with project goals.
- Monitor project progress, identify delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure planning and reporting processes align with company and client standards.
- Provide leadership to junior planners and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning practices.
Skills/experience/qualifications
- Proven experience as a planner in the UK water industry, ideally within an AMP framework.
- Senior/Lead experience desirable - must be able to hit the ground running
- Strong MEICA project experience desirable
- Proficiency with industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Asta).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Based within commutable distance to Kent or willing to travel 3 days per week to site.
- Experience delivering complex utility or infrastructure projects.
