If you take pride in your work and have a strong background in site-based steel fixing, we want to hear from you.Job DescriptionAs a Steel Fixer, you will play a key role in supporting ongoing construction and civil engineering projects. You'll be responsible for accurately positioning and securing steel bars and mesh used to reinforce concrete structures.Key Responsibilities* Cutting, bending, and fixing steel bars and mesh to reinforcement structures* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and bar bending schedules* Tying rebar using hand tools or mechanical equipment* Assisting with concrete pours and formwork alignment* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards* Working alongside shuttering joiners, concrete finishers, and groundworkers where necessaryRequirementsEssential:* Valid CSCS Card* Proven experience as a Steel Fixer* Ability to read and work from technical drawings* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in steel fixing or relevant trade* Two recent references from similar site-based workWhat We Offer* Competitive rates (to be discussed depending on experience and role specifics)* Varying project durations and shift patterns* Ongoing work opportunities for reliable and hardworking tradespeople* Supportive team and regular communicationIf you're a qualified Steel Fixer based in or willing to travel to Ashington, and you're open to new opportunities, apply now to join our trusted team.Please note: Only applicants with the required skills and experience will be considered.
