Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a highly-regarded firm of chartered accountants in Ashton-under-Lyne who are now looking to add an experienced Bookkeeper to their growing team.

As a Bookkeeper you will take a hands-on role in the completion of client bookkeeping, preparing and submitting VAT returns, CIS returns, and assisting with the preparation of management accounts.

The ideal candidate can be AAT Qualified / ACCA Part Qualified or qualified by experience.

Location: Ashton-under-Lyne

Salary : £28,000 - £32,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the management of a team including trainees
  • Assisting in training and development of fellow team members
  • Planning the client compliance work
  • Preparation of accounts, VAT, etc.
  • Managing and adhering to strict deadlines
  • Managing workflow and work allocation
  • Reporting to Senior Managers and contributing to and participating in meetings
  • Dealing with external organisations including HMRC
  • Managing client queries
  • Dealing with general ad hoc duties as and when required

Skills:

  • Sage; Xero; QuickBooks; DEXT; Sage Cloud Accounting
  • Computer Literate e.g., Excel, Email, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential
  • Confidence in dealing with clients and responding to client queries
