Reporting to a Buying Director and leading a team of Buying Assistants, the successful candidate will help to drive sales, profitability and innovation in the Household buying team through effective leadership, analytical skills and passion for product.Â
Your New Role
- Manage and foster the development of Buying Assistants
- Meeting, managing, assessing, engaging, and motivating suppliers
- Have a detailed and comprehensive understanding of product range internally and externally
- Produce timely and accurate business forecasts, plans and recommendations to enable targets to be met, and to Identify, assess, and monitor additional information/data which could be used in decision making
- Plan, prepare and carry out negotiations to secure exciting products at the best price
- Aid the Buying Director on existing and future ranges through utilizing several data sources
About You
Essential:
- Strong attention to detail with an exceptionally high level of personal organisation
- Strong communication skills with ability to take complex information and deliver in a simplified manner across many levels of the business
- Delivery of concise and articulate, executive-level written work
- A strong sense of urgency and adaptability under pressure with strong problem-solving capabilities and focus on solutionsÂ
- Previous Buying experience
- Previous management and leadership experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Being comfortable having challenging conversations with supply partners
- A strong level of resilience and the ability to operate under pressure
- Intellectually curious and takes initiative
- Self-starter must be productive with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with cross functional departments to ensure food safety as a priority
- Influential and natural leader in an environment with a large supplier base
Desirable:
- An understanding and awareness of the Household market and supply chain

- 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5pmpm, with the opportunity of remote working up to 2 days per week
