Infrastructure Engineer (Server and Storage) - 3rd/4th Line Support

Role:

As a Technical Specialist, the successful candidate will join a team of specialists where you will be able to bring your knowledge and experience to our already strong technical team.

Reporting to the IT Service Manager, you will be a key figure within our support team. Your expertise will be crucial to supporting our clients with system issues and requirements.

You will work closely with other Technical Specialists to support our clients to a high standard.

You will also have the opportunity to work on customer projects using your knowledge and experience to propose, design, implement and support solutions that help drive improvements to our clients' IT infrastructure.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience of virtualised environments including installation, configuration, and management. (VMware, Hyper-V etc).
  • Expertise in Windows Server 2019 onwards.
  • Expertise in physical server hardware architecture (HPE ProLiant / Dell PowerEdge)
  • Expertise in network storage solutions - SAN / NAS (HPE SAN).
  • Strong experience of Microsoft environments (ADUC, GPO, Certificate Services).
  • Installing and configuring backup solutions. (Veeam etc)
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Intune, compliance, security, licensing)
  • Network awareness (Basic routing, subnetting, VLANs, Firewalls)
  • Exposure to RMM solutions (N-able etc)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional level of Technical Service to our customers.
  • Manage service tickets in line with ITIL standards.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work independently or as a team to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Act as technical lead for projects that you are assigned to.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated with industry trends with the ability to deliver findings to management.
  • Show a pro-active attitude towards Technical Support.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner when visiting customers.
  • 5+ years' experience as a 3rd line IT infrastructure engineer actively supporting the technologies listed above.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Customer Support role.
