Supported Housing Officer – Temporary – Permanent

Hourly rate: £16 per hour PAYE or £18 per hour umbrella

Location: Buckinghamshire

Hours: 37.5 a week including weekends - Shift patterns are 8am-4pm, 11am-7pm, 1:30pm-9:30pm

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, empathetic, and experienced in working with vulnerable groups. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive, lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable people who are facing housing instability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality housing support to residents, including person centred support plans, risk assessments, advice, and guidance
  • Actively engage with residents to maximise the benefits of their stay at the YMCA
  • Work towards and achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives and ensure a high level of service is provided
  • To ensure each resident has a clear programme of support in place to help them achieve the independent living skills required for them to progress onto a more or even completely, independent accommodation
  • To ensure the health and safety of the residents; in supporting them to maintain and further improve their mental health, and to promote their independent living abilities in accordance with their individual support plans, fully involving them in all aspects of the planning and service delivery
  • To develop and maintain operational links with key partners and stakeholders keeping them fully informed of the pathways and support needs of the residents

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in social care, housing management, or a related field is desirable (e.g., Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care, Housing Studies, or similar)
  • Proven experience in working with vulnerable young people
  • Direct experience of working with a range of multi-agency partners at delivery level
  • Previous experience in providing housing advice or support to individuals at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping is highly desirable
