- Select, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships, focusing on on-time delivery (OTD), lead times, cost, and product quality.
- Monitor vendor KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews to drive improvements in reliability and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Inventory & Materials Management
- Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and high stock turn rates.
- Manage inventory planning using Min/Max, Kanban, and Just-in-Time (JIT) systems.
- Ensure accurate material picking, packing, and storage using FIFO/FEFO methods.
- Lead regular cycle counts and full stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
Production & Logistics Support
- Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure smooth material flow to the production line.
- Develop and maintain materials scheduling tools (e.g., MRP systems) to meet changing demand.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by coordinating material readiness and vendor capability.
- Improve logistics processes from inbound receiving to outbound shipping, including 3PL coordination if applicable.
Process Improvement & Systems Development
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Work with engineers to streamline operations through automation, standardization, and digital tools (e.g., ERP, MES, or WMS platforms).
- Use data analysis to drive decisions, forecast demand, and optimize lead times and costs.
Leadership & Compliance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small logistics and materials team.
- Define and track departmental KPIs (e.g., OTIF, Inventory Accuracy, Vendor OTD).
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards across the department.
- Foster a "right-first-time" and proactive problem-solving culture.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering operations environment.

- Technical understanding of engineering or manufacturing processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Comfortable working independently and challenging the status quo when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
