This is a vibrant and inclusive special school for boys aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Student Support Assistant to join our committed team.

The Role:
As a Student Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning, wellbeing, and personal development of our students. You will work closely with teaching staff, the pastoral team, and other support staff to ensure each student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students during lessons and around the school
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Promote positive emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Support students with learning tasks, personal care (if required), and engagement
  • Assist with the preparation of resources and classroom materials
  • Maintain accurate records and liaise with other staff as needed

  • Is patient, calm, and enthusiastic
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting young people with SEMH needs
  • Can work well as part of a team
  • Is resilient and adaptable to changing situations
  • Has experience in a similar role or a willingness to learn (training provided)
