We have a Cleaning Operative role available at Holcim Aggregates in Glensanda. These roles are ideal for individuals with experience in laboring and housekeeping, particularly those comfortable working with hand shovels and fire.
Role: Cleaning Operative
Location: Holcim Aggregates, Glensanda, Glensanda Quarry, Morvern, Oban PA34 5QB
Pay Rate: 14.50ph
Contract Length: 6 months initially, with the possibility of extension
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (includes 1-hour paid break)
Start: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Using shovels to remove debris, dust, and dirt from work areas, walkways, and equipment.
- Operating hoses for washing down quarry machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
- Ensuring the quarry site remains tidy and safe by regularly clearing areas of waste or materials.
- Adhering to safety procedures, including wearing PPE and reporting hazards.
- Assisting in the efficient operation of the quarry by maintaining clean and clutter-free working environments.
Essential Skills:
- Pervious experience in a Housekeeping, Labourer role.
- Experience using hand shovels and fire,
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Locals preferable.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in Quarry/Construction Sites: Having prior experience in a quarry or similar industrial setting is advantageous.
- Mobile Plant Operation: Experience operating small mobile plant equipment such as mini excavators, loaders, or skid-steer machines would be beneficial.
- Physical Fitness: The role requires manual labor, and the ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety: Familiarity with the safety regulations and practices in a quarry environment, such as understanding the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and recognizing potential hazards.
- Adaptability: Ability to switch between cleaning tasks and equipment operation, depending on site needs.
