Assistant Credit Controller | Permanent | Co Antrim | 

Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a commercial business in Co Antrim who are actively recruiting within their finance team for an Assistant Credit Controller.

This is a new opportunity within the team and offers a brilliant opportunity to join a structured team and progress.

This role is office based, and the hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm. 

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Accounts Assistant will work as part of a team and will initially focus on the management of the purchase ledger but will also assist with month-end processes, accruals and prepayments, preparation of VAT returns and assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

More specific duties will include:

Completing credit checks on potential new customers

Periodic credit checking of existing customers

Setting and monitoring credit limits

Communicating with customers to chase current and overdue debt

Liaising with customers to resolve payment issues and discrepancies

Communicating with customers to ensure receipt and processing of large invoices

Handling customer queries professionally

Weekly and monthly debt and cash reporting

Issuing company customer statements

Ad hoc investigations and reporting

Assisting with the cash allocation process

Completion of other accounts duties (training for all duties will be provided)

Other general administration duties, such as running various daily, weekly and monthly reports, scanning and filing paperwork, record archiving and general word processing

The successful candidate will ideally:

Have previous accounts experience, preferably credit control experience experience 

Possess excellent general IT skills including advanced level experience of Microsoft Excel

Must be confident with telephone communication and possess a polite and professional telephone manner

Be able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also possessing the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Be self motivated, enthusiastic and a fast learner
