Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Salary: £43,000/£45,000
Location: Banbury
Reporting to: Lead Quality Manager
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have management experience in a certified or regulated environment (e.g., ISO 9001) and a strong health and safety background within a manufacturing setting. This role requires a proactive, professional, and personable approach, coupled with excellent organisational, communication, and analytical skills.
This position is responsible for embedding a culture of quality, ensuring process control, and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 standards while driving excellence across manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Manage the full documentation of the ISO 9001 certified quality system.
- Facilitate 3rd party certification audits and liaise with relevant bodies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, processes, and procedures, reviewing them regularly.
- Collaborate with management teams on process improvements and report to senior leadership.
- Maintain registers and documentation to ensure processes are followed.
- Oversee design quality standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Lead bi-annual management review meetings.
Health and Safety
- Implement, integrate, and oversee health and safety standards across the business.
- Chair Health and Safety Committee meetings and coordinate timely action on all items.
- Create and review health and safety documentation, ensuring regular updates.
- Conduct risk assessments with production teams and monitor associated risks.
- Work with facilities management on safety issues related to the workplace.
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and report issues to senior leadership.
Training, Procedures, and Quality
- Maintain robust training matrices and ensure staff have necessary skills.
- Oversee training documentation for manufacturing and service teams, reviewing regularly.
- Audit documentation to verify process accuracy, including work-in-progress travellers, drawings, and kits.
- Manage change requests and assess impacts on processes.
- Maintain CAR/NCR registers, conduct reviews, and report trends.
- Spot-check production processes, investigate issues, and initiate corrective actions.
- Review sign-off and PDI documentation, implementing changes as needed.
- Serve as process owner for Engineering Change Management systems.
- Conduct internal audits, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in quality management in a certified environment (ISO 9001).
- CQI experience and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
- NEBOSH or IOSH health and safety qualification.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma principles.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and other database systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- First Aid, Fire Marshall, and COSHH awareness training (desirable).
