An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Banbury is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Specialist SEN Teacher to join their Autism Resource Base (ARB) from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting children with autism and complex needs.
You will be joining a nurturing and collaborative team, led by a highly respected and supportive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. The ARB offers a small class environment of 10 pupils or fewer, with two experienced TAs providing additional classroom support.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons that meet EHCP outcomes
- Using specialist strategies and visual supports to promote communication and independence
- Creating a structured and supportive learning environment for autistic pupils
- Leading on behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques
- Working closely with families, therapists, and outside agencies
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to review meetings and reports
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
- Experience or a strong interest in SEN, autism, or specialist settings
- A calm, patient, and reflective approach to teaching
- Knowledge of strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Makaton (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
- Commitment to inclusive education and pupil-centred learning
