Recruitment Opportunity: Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor

Barking & Dagenham Reside is seeking an experienced and motivated Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor to join our growing property team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the effective delivery of responsive repairs, voids management, and compliance works across our housing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct pre- and post-inspections of repair works to ensure quality and value for money

Lead on the management of complex repairs including damp & mould, HHSRS issues, and disrepair claims

Oversee void inspections, specifying works and ensuring timely turnaround of properties

Support cyclical and compliance programmes, including statutory safety checks (e.g. fire, asbestos, water hygiene)

Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification

Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on KPIs, budget performance, and service outcomes

Provide technical advice to internal teams and support in the development of policies and procedures

Engage with residents and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and service delivery

Essential Requirements

A relevant technical qualification in construction, building maintenance, or a related field

Proven experience in a property management, maintenance, or surveying role

Strong knowledge of building pathology, HHSRS, and damp & mould diagnostics

Ability to manage multiple projects and cases concurrently

Confident in contractor management, works specification, and cost control

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Familiarity with compliance frameworks and health & safety regulations
