If you are passionate about making a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable young children and have a talent for positive behaviour management, this is the role for you!

SANZA Teaching Agency are working with an independent special school in Dagenham that provides tailored education and therapeutic support for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional learning challenges. The school caters to both primary and secondary students.

They are seeking a calm, nurturing behaviour mentor to join their school.

This behaviour mentor role would also suit a teaching assistant with experience in mainstream settings but has a keen interest in transitioning over to working within (SEMH) Social, Emotional, Mental Health.

As a behaviour mentor, you will:

  • Work closely with teachers to support students and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Support the learning of children in the class, including individual, small and large groups as directed
  • Monitor, assess and support children that have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties, and possibly other special educational needs
  • Establish trusting, nurturing relationships with young people and endeavour to protect, care and facilitate their growth and development across all areas
