  Key Responsibilities as a Teacher of Geography:
  • Curriculum Planning & Delivery: Create and implement a dynamic and engaging Geography curriculum that explores a broad range of topics, including physical landscapes, human interactions, environmental sustainability, and spatial awareness.

  • Engaging Instruction: Deliver high-quality, thought-provoking Geography lessons that incorporate up-to-date teaching methods, technology, and real-world case studies—enhanced where possible with practical activities or fieldwork.

  • Assessment & Feedback: Monitor and evaluate student progress using diverse assessment tools such as written tasks, presentations, investigations, and practical assessments—providing timely, constructive feedback to support continued growth.

  • Student Support & Mentorship: Cultivate students’ curiosity and critical thinking through thoughtful guidance and encouragement, helping them build academic confidence and a lifelong interest in Geography.

  • Classroom Culture: Maintain an orderly, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports collaboration, inquiry-based learning, and a shared enthusiasm for Geography.

  • Continuous Improvement: Keep up to date with new developments in Geography education and contribute to your own professional growth through training and departmental collaboration.

  Ideal Candidate Attributes:
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant degree in Geography or a closely related discipline.

  • Proven experience delivering Geography lessons at secondary school level.

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment strategies.

  • Ability to inspire students and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
