Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, inspiring Music lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, including performance, theory, composition, and music appreciation.

  • Design a varied and challenging curriculum that promotes both technical skills and creative expression.

  • Organise and lead extracurricular music activities such as ensembles, choirs, and school performances.

  • Encourage students to explore a broad spectrum of musical genres and develop their unique talents.

  • Maintain strong classroom management while fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to wider school events and cross-curricular projects.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Be a qualified Music Teacher with UK QTS and a relevant degree in Music or a closely related field.

  • Have experience teaching Music in a secondary school setting, ideally up to A-Level.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of curriculum development and student-centred pedagogy.

  • Be passionate about music education and committed to helping all students reach their potential.

  • Possess excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.

  • Be willing to participate in school life beyond the classroom and support wider school initiatives.

  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
