Long Term Futures is seeking a caring, reliable and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with brittle bone disease in a warm and inclusive primary provision in Barnet. This is a highly rewarding role for someone with manual handling and hoist training, looking to use their practical experience to make a genuine difference to a child's day-to-day school life.

About the Role

You will provide consistent 1:1 support, ensuring the pupil's safety, comfort, and full participation in school activities. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a nurturing approach to physical care. Your day-to-day will include:
Providing safe assistance with mobility, transfers, and use of a wheelchair and hoist equipment.
Supporting the pupil's access to classroom learning, group activities, and outdoor sessions.
Liaising closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and medical professionals to follow care plans.
Ensuring the environment is safe and adapted to the pupil's needs.
Offering reassurance, encouragement, and emotional support to build confidence and independence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

School-based experience supporting pupils with physical or medical needs.
Manual handling and hoist training - essential for this role.
