Long Term Futures is seeking a caring, reliable and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with brittle bone disease in a warm and inclusive primary provision in Barnet. This is a highly rewarding role for someone with manual handling and hoist training, looking to use their practical experience to make a genuine difference to a child's day-to-day school life.

About the Role

  • You will provide consistent 1:1 support, ensuring the pupil's safety, comfort, and full participation in school activities. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a nurturing approach to physical care. Your day-to-day will include:
  • Providing safe assistance with mobility, transfers, and use of a wheelchair and hoist equipment.
  • Supporting the pupil's access to classroom learning, group activities, and outdoor sessions.
  • Liaising closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and medical professionals to follow care plans.
  • Ensuring the environment is safe and adapted to the pupil's needs.
  • Offering reassurance, encouragement, and emotional support to build confidence and independence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Manual handling and hoist training - essential for this role.
