Are you a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking committed Supply and Long-Term SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school located across Barnet.

About the School

This specialist school supports children and young people across Primary and Secondary age groups with a range of needs, including ASD, MLD, PMLD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. The school is well-resourced, inclusive, and led by a highly supportive senior leadership team who value their staff and encourage professional development.

Your Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, tailored learning activities

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

  • Help pupils develop communication, social, and independence skills

  • Use a range of SEN strategies including visual supports, sensory activities, and behaviour-support approaches

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (school, care, or community settings welcomed)

  • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
