About the Role

We are seeking a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to support our busy property team in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will assist fee earners with residential conveyancing transactions, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist fee earners with all aspects of residential conveyancing, from instruction to completion.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors to facilitate transactions.
  • Draft legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Conduct searches and review title documents.
  • Manage files and maintain accurate records within the case management system.
  • Handle post-completion formalities, including registrations and compliance tasks.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a conveyancing or legal assistant role is desirable.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • IT proficiency, including experience with case management systems.
