Elevation Recruitment are currently supporting on of our South Yorkshire based clients to recruit an experienced Production Foreman to lead their shopfloor team and support the Production Manager. This is a key role, acting as the bridge between shopfloor operations and senior management.

Key responsibilities of the Production Foreman include:

  • Oversee daily factory operations in our lead foundry, mill, press, and fabrication environment
  • Manage shopfloor operatives, ensuring production targets, quality, and safety standards are met
  • Support and deputise for the Production Manager when required
  • Ensure workload is allocated effectively across team leaders, specialists, and operators
  • Conduct quality inspections of work-in-progress and finished products
  • Play an active role in H&S compliance, HR processes, training, and recruitment
  • Assist in machinery maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support

We’re looking for Production Foremen with the below skills & experience:

  • Experience in a metalworking environment is essential (mills, presses, or metal casting ideal)
  • Previous supervisory experience within manufacturing
  • Knowledge of metalworking machinery (saws, routers, welding – desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to read technical production drawings and work with production data
  • Metallurgical knowledge would be a strong advantage
  • Comfortable using Excel and data analysis tools (training provided)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a critical-thinking mindset
  • Hands-on and proactive approach
