Join our team as a Project Officer focusing on infrastructure projects. This role involves managing the development of a car park, to include EV charge points, high quality public realm and 3 super sculptures – the Three Yorkshire digital roses. The structures are between 15 and 12m high and will be able to do light and audio shows, so will be a key cultural attraction. This position is ideal for someone with a background in project management within infrastructure environments, looking to contribute significantly to the development and implementation of large-scale projects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist with project management, coordinating resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that projects are effectively planned and managed within a formal programme and project management framework.
  • Provide advice and guidance on projects, ensuring key milestones and information are communicated to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the maintenance of project risk registers and assist in resolving issues to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Assist in performance management and data analysis to promote quality practice and continuous service improvement.
  • Help in the identification, evaluation, and implementation of processes, technology, and systems to enhance project and service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive library of documents and information for effective project management.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Liaise, negotiate, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including managers, employees, councillors, and partnership agencies to ensure effective project delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • We need someone who is experienced in construction project management – managing professional services and contractors
  • Proven experience in a project management environment, preferably within infrastructure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with officers at all levels.
  • Skilled in creating documentation and presentation materials to support service delivery.
  • Strong ability to research, collate, and analyse data or information and produce comprehensive reports.
