Mechanical Assembler

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Basildon

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Assembler to join our client’s team. This role involves producing precision components and ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience using hand tools and a strong understanding of engineering principles.

Day-to-day of the role:

Produce components in line with delivery requirements against agreed schedules.

Ensure that all relevant quality criteria are met and maintain adherence to working practices, procedures, and policies, including health and safety standards.

Operate a wide variety of power tools and hand tools.

Use calibrated measuring devices, fixtures, and meters.

Maintain accurate documentation related to quality and work in progress.

Conduct repairs and re-work of nonconforming products.

Maintain a clean work area, ensuring it is audit-ready at all times.

Perform additional tasks as required to support the team and production goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience using hand tools and working with small components.

High level of manual dexterity.

Ability to read and follow engineering/assembly drawings.

Experience working with ITAR/EAR restricted parts is advantageous.

Familiarity with high-quality standards on precision components is desirable.

Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S processes is beneficial.

Must be health & safety conscious.

Good problem-solving skills and ability to work constructively within a team.

Excellent time management and a proactive, positive attitude.
