We're looking for an experienced and proactive Ocean Export Operator to join our growing team in Basildon. If you have a solid background in LCL export operations and want to develop your career in a supportive, fast-paced freight forwarding environment - we want to hear from you.
The Role
As an Ocean Export Operator, you'll be responsible for handling start-to-finish export shipments, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellent customer service at every stage. You'll liaise with clients, carriers, and overseas agents, managing all documentation and logistics with efficiency and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate LCL/groupage export shipments from booking to delivery
- Prepare export documentation including bills of lading, invoices, and customs entries
- Communicate effectively with customers, shipping lines, and overseas agents
- Track shipments and proactively update clients on progress or delays
- Ensure compliance with all relevant export regulations and company procedures
- Support the Export Manager and team with general operational tasks
What We're Looking For
- A Minimum 2 years' experience in ocean/seafreight export operations with a Freight Forwarder
- Strong knowledge of LCL/groupage procedures
- Proficient with export documentation and freight systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Positive, can-do attitude and team player mindset
